| |
Professor Chiu Tian-Juh is the chair of the Department of Social Psychology at the Shih Hsin University. His research centers around sociological theory, sociology of gerontology, adult education and educational sociology. His current work focuses on the investigation of the meaning of life in old age and how the meaning of this concept is constructed. Apart from academic research, he has also devoted himself to social services, such as advancing the development of reading groups in Taiwan and promoting national reading campaigns. |

| He acts as the director of the Association of Study Circle of the ROC, a standing director of Taiwan Reading Association and the program committee member of Children Reading Project of Taiwanese Ministry of Education. He was the director of Adult Education Center and an associate professor of the Department of Adult & Continuing Education at National Taiwan Normal University in 1991-1996 and the general secretary of National Teachers' Council of the ROC in 2000-2001. |
